Sand Festival in Western Mongolia

Date: 18 & 19 August

Location: Jargalant village in Gobi-Altai province

Beautiful in sand nestled- lake surrounded by massif sand dunes known as Mongol Els stretching over 150 km and reaching at certain places 40 km wide in Western Mongolia. Organized since 2015 by private Ger camp with collaboration of village administration, the festival offers to experience rare glimpse into life and celebration of nomads. Many events, sand related sports and competitions take place such as sand volleyball, race through sand dunes to top highest point, sand wrestling, archery, horse race, ankle bone shooting etc…

Folklore concert is performed by locals.
